Back to Monash we traverse!

Kat is in hospital. Her gall bladder is playing up again. These attacks have occurred a few times before and she has been in excruciating pain but after about 24-48 hours the symptoms pass and life resumes as normal. So this time the symptoms didn't pass so quickly. She was going to her GP anyway to get a burn dressed, and after he pushed at her side a few times (and she would have cursed quite profusely if she was the cursing type!) he suggested the hospital... oh yay!

Now we have had a couple of visits to the emergency waiting room, it's been renovated so its cleaner, but still an appalling place to visit, it's full of sick people. It was true to form, we waited some 7 hours, and then I left her there - yes I am that good a sister! but it was midnight... and she insisted...anyway she finally saw a doctor, they plied her with morphine, drew some blood and then went 'gosh there might be something wrong - okay so tests revealed a UTI and several gall stones, one was 1.5cm and in the wrong spot, so it seems a laparoscopic cholecystectomy is in store i.e. keyhole surgery to remove offending gall bladder.

And so the hospital visits recommence!

fingers crossed for Kat.
